La reproducción asistida y la filiación. Especial referencia al caso de las parejas de mujeres homosexuales

2018

This paper analyses, in general, the evolution that has had the art. 7.3 LTRHA since its introduction by the Act 3/2007, 15 march. In that way, it shows which has been the legislator´s solution about the use of assisted reproduction tecniques by homosexual women couples. Likewise, it studies which resolutions on the matter have been more relevant in the last years. All this, to set out the legislator´s failure and the need to reformulate the filiation regime in face of the challenge that assisted reproduction implies.

Personality characteristics analysis in couples undergoing artificial insemination

1994

The personality characteristics of 40 couples admitted into an artificial insemination scheme have been analysed. The personality study was carried out using Cattell's questionnaire 16 PF (form C) and EPI questionnaire (Eysenck Personality Inventory). The results show significant statistical differences between males and females with a greater conformity with the group, in women; women are also bolder and more disciplined from an emotional point of view, whereas men are more radical.

The transcriptome of spermatozoa used in homologous intrauterine insemination varies considerably between samples that achieve pregnancy and those th…

2009

Objective To differentiate transcripts' expression in the sperm from patients who achieved pregnancy in their first IUI cycle from those who did not. Basic sperm analysis is limited to forecasting pregnancies by means of assisted reproduction. New assays, such as microarray analysis, are potential predictive tools for this purpose. Design Nested case-control study. Setting University-affiliated private setting. Patient(s) Twenty sperm samples were obtained from infertile males undergoing their first IUI cycle with healthy partners. Sperm samples with which pregnancy was achieved (P; n=10) and those with which it was not achieved (NP; n=10) were identified and their respective messenger RNA …

GnRH agonist administration at the time of implantation does not improve pregnancy outcome in intrauterine insemination cycles: a randomized controll…

2009

Objective To assess whether GnRH agonist administration in the luteal phase improves pregnancy outcome in intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles. Design Single-center, randomized, single-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Setting University-affiliated infertility clinic, between February 2005 and December 2007. Patient(s) Three hundred forty-four women undergoing IUI owing to mild to moderate male factor or donor sperm indication. Intervention(s) Random administration to either a single subcutaneous injection of 0.1 mg triptorelin (group A; n = 172) 8 days after hCG administration, or solvent only (group B; n=172) at the same time. Main Outcome Measure(s) Pregnancy rate was the primary outcom…

The significance of sperm DNA oxidation in embryo development and reproductive outcome in an oocyte donation program: a new model to study a male inf…

2008

Objective: One byproduct resulting from free radical damage is the DNA hydroxylation also known as DNA oxidation. Our aim with this work was to determine the relevance of sperm DNA oxidation on embryo quality in oocyte donation cycles. Design: We prospectively studied pairs of oocyte donation cycles, i.e., the same oocyte donors, donating to two recipients, where the only difference between the two treatments was the use of a different sperm sample. Setting: University-affiliated private IVF setting. Patient(s): Infertile male partners from couples undergoing oocyte donation cycles (n=38): 76 semen aliquots analyzed before and after semen processing by swim up. Intervention(s): None. Main O…

Biologinen sosiaalisen mallina. Valintoja uuden hedelmöityshoitolain kentällä.

2007

Tarkastelen artikkelissa hedelmöityshoitoja koskevan lakiprosessin aikaista kamppailua, joka realisoitui Laiksi hedelmöityshoidoista (1237/2006). Analysoin tarkemmin lain viidettä pykälää (1237/2006, 5§) sekä siitä lakiesityksessä HE 3/2006 esitettyjä perusteluja. Pykälän mukaan lääkärin tulee valita sukusolujen luovuttajista hoitoa saavan parin osapuolia muistuttavat henkilöt, sillä lapsen tulee saada muistuttaa myös sosiaalista vanhempaansa. Analysoin lain viidennen pykälän sisältämiä vanhempien ja lapsen asemaa koskevia lausumia modaalisuusanalyyttisesti käyttäen apuna semioottista neliötä. Neliön kautta ilmennän hoitoihin osallistuvien positioiden modaalista astevaihtelua, joka osoittaa…

Endocrine and ovarian response after a 2-day controlled suckling and eCG treatment in lactating rabbit does.

2006

Synchronization methods are used to obtain higher fertility when artificial insemination (AI) is applied to lactating rabbit does. The most common methods are eCG administration or temporary doe–litter separation. Nevertheless, drawbacks have been reported, such as negative side effects of hormonal treatment in the doe and low litter growth due to absence of suckling, respectively. Recently, improved reproductive performance (without visible consequences on young rabbit growth), has been obtained by applying a 2-day controlled nursing method before AI, by allowing for a 10 min nursing of the litter 24 h of separation. The present study was undertaken to examine the pituitary (PRL, LH, FSH) …

Successful gamete intrafallopian transfer following failed artificial insemination by donor: evidence for a defect in gamete transport?

1988

Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) was offered as an alternative treatment to 48 women who failed to conceive after artificial insemination with donor semen (AID) in numerous attempts (9 to 24 cycles). The evaluation of these women showed no major cause of infertility as evidenced by normal endocrine, cervical, uterine, and tubal factor studies. Their partners were either azoospermic or severely oligoasthenospermic. During the GIFT cycle, follicular development was induced with (1) clomiphene citrate (days 3 to 7) plus human menopausal gonadotropins (hMG) from day 6 on or (2) human follicle-stimulating hormone (days 3 to 4) plus hMG (day 5 on), until ultrasound revealed 2 follicles 16 mm…

Effect of sperm concentration and storage temperature on goat spermatozoa during liquid storage

2020

The use of cooled semen is relatively common in goats. There are a number of advantages of cooled semen doses, including easier handling of artificial insemination (AI) doses, transport, more AI doses per ejaculate, and higher fertility rates in comparison with frozen AI doses. However, cooled semen has a short shelf life. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of temperature and sperm concentration on the in vitro sperm quality during liquid storage for 48 h, including sperm motility and kinetics, response to oxidation, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and DNA fragmentation in goats. Three experiments were performed. In the first, the effects of liquid preservation of …

Parity and number of repeated doe-litter-separation treatments affect differently the reproductive performances of lactating does.

2010

[EN] Using data from three different experiments, the effects of oestrus synchronisation by doe-litter separation (DLS), applied 48 hours befare artificial insemination from day 9 to day 11 post partum, on productive performance of free nursing rabbit does and their litters in relation to parity and number of successive DLS treatments were evaluated. lnitially, 200 New Zealand White does of different parity were homogeneously and definitively distributed in two groups (DLS and Control). On the whole, DLS improved fertility (+23.9%, Ps0.001 ), but reduced the growth of young rabbits from day 9 to weaning (-1.7 g/d, Ps0.01) and their weaning weight (-38 g, Ps0.01) at day 35. DLS also increase…
